Passive Income in NL - Meesman
I'll start with an obvious - passive income is for lazy couch guardians who really don't get bothered by market fluctuations too much and prefer steady pace of actions to support their investments.
When I moved to The Netherlands, it was quite a hype as a topic, so I jumped in - explored what ETFs are, what brokers do and how traders are (not) protected. As my interest grew, it was just a matter of time when I start choosing my broker for investments which I'll talk about in another article some day.
What was perhaps not so great for a coach guardian with broker was the regular action that was required to purchase more stocks and I got really bored. Playing with daily limits, trying to put a bit lower price and find an overnight order still hanging there because it went up rather than down became too much. Then I read about Meesman.
Meesman platform is only available in The Netherlands, so if you are passing by as a resident of another country, it's probably not for you but things may change, check it out for yourself.
Core features I love about Meesman:
- low cost - extremely low fees for purchases and management
- pick you index to purchase and set up automatic direct debit from your bank account
You also have an option to do a one-time purchase if the time is favorable or you want to start with a bigger number rather than wait month-on-month.
In terms of withdrawal, you probably need to be a bit lucky in terms of the index value at the time they close or sell the requested amount. Why is that? Well, it takes time for them to process your request and it's more about weeks rather than days, so, if you expect volatility, perhaps it's better to wait till the last day before the weekly deadline.
oh yes, here's my referral code D81G26 if you want to sponsor this article and give me a chance to donate or order a book.
